Abstract

Most applications require users to enter a password in order to use those applications. One type of the passwords used on smartphones is based on certain line pattern. The pattern of lines that make up the password is essentially an image similar to a sequence of numbers arranged in a particular order. Just when users need to memorize a series of numbers, "memorizing" the line pattern also gives cognitive load to certain level. This study observed the cognitive load experienced by users when they were using line pattern-based password as compared to numeric-based password. The research method employed in this study was a scenario-based experiment followed by a survey to self-report the cognitive load experienced by the user after they run the scenario. Cognitive load experienced by users were reported by users themselves. The subjects of the study were 67 undergraduate and master students. They were voluntarily participated in this research. The result obtained from this study indicated that the cognitive load experienced by users when they used the pattern of the line based password was smaller than the number-based password.

Abstract

In-App Purchase or payment system based on application is one of promising revenue model in mobile application for application developers or marketers. However, in-app purchase is placed in the lowest rate compared to other model. This paper attempts to present the analysis of in-app purchase adoption viewed from the user behavior of mobile application as consumers. This study is conducted by combining the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology approach that was developed (UTAUT2) with involving perceived security aspect. The result shows that the habit of potential users, information security assurance, and hedonic motivations of potential users are the main supporting factors in adopting in-app purchase. Those factors can be admitted as a reference in developing mobile application, in order to make in-app purchase can be accepted and used by potential users of mobile application.

Abstract

This paper contains the results of the developmentand implementation of educational games in 3D , as opposed to methods of learning using educational games 2D and conventional learning methods . The purpose of the application to determine the effectiveness of the use of each learning method and whether or not the development of educational game in 3D as a learning tool . Evaluation of the 91 respondents kindergarten class B of 4 kindergarten in Semarang , 28 respondents in the conventional learning , learning by 32 respondents on educational games 2D , and 31 respondents in the study with 3D educational game . Analysis of the results of the evaluation using the Kruskal - Wallis test . Evaluation material consists of 20 instructional materials related to letters and numbers and associated material response 5 user 3D educational game that will be used . The results of the Kruskal - Wallis analysis showed a difference in learning outcomes and figures hurud using educational games in 3D , 2D and educational game conventional learning . Response 31 users when playing 3D games are 87 % of respondents felt interested in playing games , 81 % of respondents are consistent in playing the game , 100 % of respondents felt the background music and animations used in the game interesting , and 97 % of respondents smoothly when using it with a computer game .

Abstract

Substation Monitoring Information System and Distribution Substation PLN is a form of information system which is used to monitor the state of the substation and distribution substation PLN with utilizing the Internet. Monitoring information displayed on a website. Information system monitoring substation is needed because the existing SCADA system has not reached the distribution substation.Needs monitoring system is used to increase the reliability of electrical equipment. Information system displays measurement results in the form of voltage, temperature, flow and cosphi obtained from sensors mounted on the transformer contained in substations and distribution sub stations. Data generated in theform of serial data which is then transmitted to the web using lan network server which is then processed so that it can be displayedon website.Online processisd one well enough that the system can display data per second even though the data obtained still contained fewer errors (phase Voltage R=0.58%, S=0.64% phase, phaseT=0,42%, current=4.7% , temperature and Cosphi=0.56% =1.63%. documentation system that can be presented inform of graphs which can be determined at the time of presentation and can be printed or downloaded in multiple file formats to facilitate the analysis of the system.

Abstract

One of the primary danger that is made by Meraapi mountain volcanic activity is pyroclastic flow which move fast and consists of gas that has a high temperature, volcanic ash and rock. This flow can move quickly down the mountain with a very high temperature. Merapi mountain natural conditions cause difficulties in visual monitoring of pyroclastic flow, whereas the usage of seismic equipment needs experts to analyze the data. This causes difficulties for staffs to warn people early, rapidly and precisely. So that, inspections are needed to plan an early pyroclastic flow warning system and be able to give a danger caution.The research devised an early pyroclastic flow warning based on geographical information system by using thermal sensor as a pyroclastic flow detector,this system is expected to give easiness in monitoring the flow and an early warning to people around Merapi mountain so that it can minimalize victims which is caused by pyroclastic flow. The research was done by surveying, observing and interviewing, whereas designing of the software using waterfall methodology or linear sequence model which consisted of analysis, design, implementation, and testing. Infrared thermal sensor using ATMega8535 microcontroller was used for the testing.The result of the research was a prototype of an early volcano pyroclastic flow warning which is based on geographical information system by utilizing thermal sensor as a pyroclastic flow detector. Thermal sensor used for the system is an infrared thermal sensor using microcontroller as an analog to digital converter. The system has facilities to set the sensor location, read the temperature on each sensor, and give n appropriate condition waning.

Abstract

This research presents the INVys system aiming to solve the problem of indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment by leveraging the capabilities of an RGB-D camera. The system utilizes the depth information provided by the camera for micronavigation, which involves sensing and avoiding obstacles in the immediate environment. The INVys system proposes a novel auto-adaptive double thresholding (AADT) method to detect obstacles, calculate their distance, and provide feedback to the user to avoid them. AADT has been evaluated and compared to baseline and auto-adaptive thresholding (AAT) methods using four criteria: accuracy, precision, robustness, and execution time. The results indicate that AADT excels in accuracy, precision, and robustness, making it a suitable method for obstacle detection and avoidance in the context of indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment. In addition to micronavigation, the INVys system utilizes the color information provided by the camera for macro-navigation, which involves recognizing and following navigational markers called optical glyphs. The system uses an automatic glyph binarization method to recognize the glyphs and evaluates them using two criteria: accuracy and execution time. The results indicate that the proposed method is accurate and efficient in recognizing the optical glyphs, making it suitable for use as a navigational marker in indoor environments. Furthermore, the study also provides a correlation between the size of the glyphs, the distance of the recognized glyphs, the tilt condition of the recognized glyphs, and the accuracy of glyph recognition. These correlations define the minimum glyph size that can be practically used for indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment. Overall, this research presents a promising solution for indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment by leveraging the capabilities of an RGB-D camera and proposing novel methods for obstacle detection and avoidance and for recognizing navigational markers.
